Ubuntu Hall of Fame

When the days get shorter in Ubuntu land because of all the things that needs to get done for the release, there is one man without whom things would not be possible: David Morley.

David is always the first to pick up the newest Ubuntu Alpha/Beta ISO images and to test them on a variety of hardware and in various installation scenarios. He has done a ton of ISO testing. Also did he contribute a large number of test cases on http://testcases.qa.ubuntu.com/. He is always active in team meetings and in #ubuntu-testing and #ubuntu-release.

Ara Pulido adds: "If you ask me for a community member with the biggest collection of different hardware running Ubuntu that would probably be Dave. The best thing is that he puts all of them in service to test the latest *buntu daily images. He would install them, run smoke tests on them, report any bug he might encounter and re-test as many times as needed with the developer's latest PPA. He is always willing to help people at #ubuntu-testing and he also participates in the weekly QA meetings. It is an honour working with him on a daily basis."

David is doing a great job in a part of the software development process that normally doesn't get much credit, but that is very important: testing.

Also for the upcoming Ubuntu Global Jam he wrote instructions for how to set up a Testing Jam.

If you want to learn more about how to get involved with Testing Ubuntu, have a chat with davmor2 on IRC. He is a great guy to work with!
